dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, Firstly,we study themaximumnumber oflimit cycles that can bifurcate from the periodic orbits of the uniform isochronous center located at the origin of system hen we perturb it inside the class of all continuous and discontinuous quartic polynomial systems separated by the straight line y = 0. The results are obtained by using the first order averagingmethod. Additional results are provided by using the averagingmethod of second order and perturbing the cubic uniform center inside the class of all quintic polynomial differential systems Secondly, we perturb the cubic degenerate center in- side the class of all quintic polynomial differential systems. Interesting results are obtained by using the averagingmethod of second order.
